Eascon presents "The EPC integrated operations in Siirtec Nigi".

Different technological solutions based on the ISO 15926 standard specification are now  available on the market to integrate the lifecycle of design, procurement, construction and operation of the process plants. First among them, SmartPlant Foundation, with its objects and documents database,  was professedly created by Intergraph to be the core of the integration among all the modules of the SmartPlant suite. Besides, the openness of its TEF technology, also allows the integration of other solutions supplied by third parties such as Zyqad by Aspentech.

Two years ago Siirtec Nigi, identified the Integration as very promising growing factor for the company and started the implementation  of a new  Engineering, Procurement and Construction Information systems based on this innovative approach.

Eascon was charged of the role of system integrator and partnered Siirtec Nigi in all the activities concerning workflow analysis, software selection, integration, customization, test and change management.

In December 2008 the new information system for the EPC of Siirtec Nigi officially came on duty with the release of the integration framework and of the first application modules.

Today, almost one year later, the new integrated engineering environment based on SmartPlant Foundation, Zyqad and SmartPlant P&ID has been applied to several EPC projects and also SmartPlant Instrumentation is going to be adopted by Siirtec Nigi with the same integrated approach.

Therefore it is now possible to take stock of this experience and share with the other EPC companies and with the owner operators the achieved results, the adopted methodology, the impacts on the organization, the found difficulties and the possible improvements.
